Current measurement RMS Current Measurement Using MATLAB Simulink
Creating a New Model
To begin, open SCIM Scape and follow these steps:
Click on "File."
Select "New."
Choose "Model" to create a new simulation project.
Accessing the Library Browser
Once you've created a new model, it's time to add components to your simulation. To do this, you will need to use the Library Browser:
Open the Library Browser, which is where you'll find all the components you need.
Drag and Drop Components
In the Library Browser, you can find various components categorized for easy access. Here's how to add them to your simulation:
Under "Scim Scape," look for "Simple Systems." Here, you'll find a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI).
Drag and drop the power source you need for your power system simulation.
Continue adding components based on your simulation requirements:
Under "Elements," find the "Series RLC Branch" component.
Under "Electrical Sources," locate an "AC Current Source."
Additionally, you can include measurement and display components for a comprehensive simulation:
Under "Measurements," you can find options like "Current Measurement."
In the "Extra Library" section, select "Measurements" and find "RMS," which converts sinusoidal waves to RMS values.
Under "Sinks," you can find "Display" and "Scope" components for visualizing your simulation results.
Interconnecting Components
Now that you've added the necessary components, it's time to connect them to create a functional simulation. Simply drag wires or connectors between the components to establish connections.
Configuring Component Parameters
To configure the parameters of each component, double-click on the respective component. This allows you to set values and properties according to your simulation requirements.
Copying and Rotating Elements
If you need to replicate an element or rotate it, follow these actions:
To make a copy, right-click on the element and drag it to your desired location.
To rotate an element, press "Ctrl + R" on your keyboard.
Starting the Simulation
After setting up your simulation, it's time to run it:
Press "Start Simulation."
Viewing Simulation Output
The simulation output will be displayed in the "Display" component you added earlier. You can also view the output as a waveform in the "Scope" component, providing a visual representation of your simulation results.
By following these steps, you can effectively create simulations using SCIM Scape, whether you're working on power systems, electrical circuits, or any related projects. SCIM Scape's user-friendly interface and comprehensive library of components make it a valuable tool for engineers and researchers.
